You Should Read This: Energy Saving Light Bulbs (CFL) – Death Over Our Heads

While every day they advise us to get rid of classic light bulbs and replace them with the new energy saving ones, many experts warn that these energy saving light bulbs should be used as rarely as possible and away from us.

The European Union directly banned the production of classic light bulbs and forced the markets to exclusively offer the energy saving light bulbs, although the experts warn us that they are harmful to our health. So why do they insist on their use?

To understand the gravity of the situation, even the put forward an emergency protocol (bottom of page) to be followed in case of a bulb breakage because of the poisonous gases it releases.

energy saving bulb dangers

They conserve energy but not your LIFE!

Researchers in Berlin claim that these controversial light bulbs are extremely harmful. When these lights are turned on, they emit phenol, a napthalene – cancerous composition which can be fatal on a long-term exposure. Phenol enters our organism through our airway and it directly disrupts its function as well as our heart rate.

Israel’s University of Haifa has published a survey according to which the “thrifty” bulbs can increase the percentage of women suffering from breast cancer because unlike the classic yellow bulb, these light bulbs somehow emit daylight, which literally disrupts the production of melatonin hormones in our body during the night hours.

There are also warnings that such lamps can cause severe migraines, and dermatologists fear of the rise of skin problems.

Eco Bulb that is harmful to the environment!?

Isn’t it absurd that there is a warning sign on the packaging of this product saying that it’s necessary to discard these lights as a toxic waste after using them?

The researchers from Berlin claim that these eco bulbs are actually a real lure for people, and although they are more expensive that the regular ones, they are bought in bulk! “The lamps also produce “electrical smog”, so they must be used exclusively in well-ventilated rooms and away from our heads”, warns expert Anders Kirchner.

They contain Mercury!

The biggest issue is that these lights contain Mercury. This powerful neurotoxin is particularly harmful for children and pregnant women. Once ingested, it does most damage to the brain and the nervous system, as well as the kidneys and liver. Last, but not least, mercury can incur a number of conditions such as anxiety, memory loss, insomnia, severe headaches, even cancer and Alzheimer’s.

So if you already use these light bulbs, we advise you to replace them with regular yellow bulbs. However, we’re going to share the emergency protocol in case you accidentally break one of these lamps.

Emergency Protocol in case of Breaking one:

  • Both people and pets should evacuate the room
  • Open the windows and ventilate the room.
  • Gently wipe the place where the bulb is broken with a damp cloth and discard the cloth in sealable plastic bag (do not vacuum as this could disperse mercury containing powder or mercury vapor).
  • With a sticky tape (duct tape), collect any debris and discard it in the plastic bag.
  • The waste must not be thrown in a bin. In this case, it’s necessary to discard the plastic bag to a location specialized in collecting hazardous waste.

Don’t forget to share as you might save someone’s life.
