Everyone loves a cup of coffee, but have you ever considered replacing that drink with something tastier and delicious?
The Golden Milk, how the ancient Ayurvedic people used to call it, is a mix of milk and turmeric and it’s one of the best ways to include turmeric in your daily nutrition. Turmeric is a spice with an intense yellow color, which helps in the process of digestion, has anti-inflammatory effect and reduces the risk of diabetes and memory loss. It can also be very helpful to people that battle with depression.†
The tastiest way to consume the turmeric is the Golden Milk, and in order to make the drink, you first need to make a paste and then the drink.
Ingredients:
Paste: 4 tablespoons of turmeric, ½ tablespoon black pepper, 120mL water.
Milk: 250mL milk, ½ tablespoon olive oil, ¼ tablespoon turmeric paste, and a bit of honey to improve the taste.
Making the Golden Milk:
Mix the ingredients for the paste in a small pot and heat it on a low temperature. Stir, and then move the pot away from the stove and pour it in a glass jar. Cool down the paste in your refrigerator and then add the milk and the olive oil. Again, heat the Golden Milk mix on a small temperature and just before it starts boiling, remove the mix and add a bit of honey to improve the taste.
It’s recommended that you drink the Golden Milk on an empty stomach, usually in the morning time when you wake up, or at night before you go to sleep.
