Everyone has experienced some kind of skin issues at some point in their lives, whether it is acne, blemishes, wrinkles, dark spots, or hypersensitivities. Luckily, there are many natural alternatives available, which unlike conventional cosmetic products, don’t cause any side effects and are safe to use.
In this article, we are going to talk about the use of guava leaves – which are beneficial for almost all skin issues!
According to a study published in the American Journal of Chinese Medicine, leaves from the guava tree are extremely useful against microscopic organisms which cause acne. They work as a strong anti-bacterial and soothing agent that reduces the appearance of acne.
Also, according to a study, the guava leaves are more beneficial than the fruit itself. They contain anti-cancer properties, and are able to successfully eliminate free radicals in the body. Moreover, guava leaves represent a potent anti-wrinkle tool. They are also extremely beneficial in improving the overall quality of the skin.
Lighten Dark Spots
Leaves from the guava tree can also be used in treatments of blemishes such as red and dark spots on your face. They act as a toning agent and are helpful in reducing irritation by destroying microscopic organisms.
Guava leaves are proved to relieve the redness and irritation caused by atopic dermatitis. Additionally, they contain anti-allergic properties that inhibit the creation of histamines (chemicals that are released in the body as part of an allergic reaction, causing the typical itching, sneezing, wheezing and swelling allergy symptoms).
Method of Treatment
In the case of atopic dermatitis, take dried guava leaves, crush them and add them to a tub of warm water. This will effectively relieve itching and redness, thus easing the uncomfortable feeling these symptoms produce.
In all other cases, you should take a few guava leaves, crush them and add them to a pot of boiling water. Let them boil until the water turns brownish and looks concentrated. Then, remove it from heat and let it cool down.
Next, apply the tonic on the affected area (or all over your face) using a cotton ball. Let it act for around 15 minutes and wash your face with lukewarm water afterward. For better results, repeat this treatment twice a week.
Don’t forget to share this with your friends and family as you might help someone in need.
